Why we’d go
This is where the Fishbowl chain started, and it's still the one we'd point people to when they want something fresh, fast and genuinely good straight after the beach. You build your own bowl from a base of cabbage, brown rice or glass noodles, add raw salmon, tuna, kingfish or tofu, then load up on pickled ginger, herbs, seaweed, a dressing and a crunchy element. It's quick, customisable and light enough that you don't feel weighed down for the rest of the day.
What to order
A build-your-own poke bowl — salmon or tuna over brown rice with ginger, seaweed and a crunchy topping; the tofu base makes it an easy vegan pick.
The atmosphere
Bright, busy, order-at-the-counter fast-casual; mostly grab-and-go
Local tip: Order ahead on the Fishbowl app or website to skip the lunchtime queue, then eat it on the grass at the south end of the beach a two-minute walk away.
Worth knowing: It's counter-service takeaway with limited seating, so it's for a quick bowl rather than a sit-down meal.
