Savion is the kind of unpretentious, home-kitchen Israeli joint that's become genuinely rare in Bondi, and it's been doing it on Wairoa Avenue for years. The falafel and pita are made by hand rather than pumped out of a machine, the salads and toppings pile up generously, and you'll pay very little for a properly filling meal. If you want authentic Middle Eastern food without the beachfront markup, this is our pick in North Bondi.

Handmade falafel plates, lamb or chicken shawarma, hummus with fresh pita, and chicken schnitzel — loaded up with the salad and pickle toppings.
The atmosphere
Casual, warm and homey — closer to eating in someone's kitchen than a polished restaurant.
