This is what happens when the people behind Fishbowl decide to do fish and chips properly: a chef-designed room (by George Livissianis) that works equally as a grab-and-go chipper and a sit-down seafood wine bar. The kitchen runs a revolving market-fish list alongside oysters, tartare and Mediterranean-leaning bar snacks, so you can go as light as a dozen rock oysters and a glass of something natural, or as classic as beer-battered fish and chips in paper. It's our pick when you want the Bondi fish-and-chip ritual without settling for a generic tourist fryer.
What to order
The fish burger is the signature and the reason many people come back; beyond that, look to whatever's on the market-fish board, the classic fish and chips, oysters and the seafood-and-Mediterranean bar snacks like tartare and anchovy toast.
