Why we’d go

This is Bondi's go-to for North American comfort food done with real conviction — it landed on the strip back in 2011 and has kept its cult following for poutine that regulars will tell you is the best in Sydney. We'd choose it when you want something loud, low-key and unpretentious rather than a polished sit-down dinner: rotating craft beers, natural wine and a taxidermy-and-disco-ball fitout that leans fully into the joke. It's a bar first, so come to graze and drink rather than for a hushed meal.

What to order

The classic poutine (fries, gravy and cheese curds) is the signature — the loaded pork versions are the house move; back it with a cheeseburger, hot wings and a Bloody Caesar.

The atmosphere

Lively, kitschy dive-bar energy — booths, Canadiana on the walls, a bit of a party after dark.

Local tip: It's closed Mondays and doesn't open until the afternoon/evening midweek (weekends from midday), so it's an afternoon-and-after-dark spot rather than a lunch stop — check the current hours before you walk up.

Worth knowing: It's rich, indulgent bar food in a deliberately noisy, kitsch-heavy room — not the pick if you want a quiet or health-forward Bondi meal, and vegetarians beyond the mushroom burger and a salad or two will find the menu meat-heavy.
