We'd choose this for a proper morning coffee-and-pastry stop a block back from the beach crowds, where the baguettes are baked on-site and the French-bakery leaning shows in the pastries and brioche rolls. It's built a genuinely loyal local following (the kind of place people come back to for their long black and a brownie), and it earns points for coeliacs with a dedicated gluten-free cabinet and separate-cook accommodations. Our read: a neighbourhood cafe that does the small things right rather than a destination brunch scene.
