Why we’d go

We'd come here when we want a proper small-bar night rather than a big beachfront pub — it leans into a playful tiki-lite theme (pineapple logo, flamboyant staff shirts, carved wooden mugs) without taking itself too seriously. The cocktail list is the real draw: 14 house drinks built on rum, citrus and native ingredients, including riffs like the Ausmopolitan and the Bondi-Tai, backed by house-made syrups and liqueurs. On weekends it opens from morning with a retractable roof over the back courtyard, so it flexes from daytime coffee-and-brunch into a late, DJ-driven cocktail den.

What to order

Start with a native-ingredient house cocktail (the Ausmopolitan or a tiki number like the Bondi-Tai), and from the kitchen the jaffles it's known for, plus fried chicken, burgers or a poke bowl.

The atmosphere

Laid-back, lively and a little kitsch — cruisey house music, upcycled-timber fit-out and a DJ booth.

Local tip: Aim for the back courtyard on a sunny weekend afternoon — the roof opens up, and it's a mellower daytime scene before the DJ-led evening crowd builds.

Worth knowing: It's a block off the beach with no ocean view, and the small-bar footprint gets loud and tight once it fills on weekend nights.
