Why we’d go

This is the Bondi outpost of the popular Surry Hills original, and it brings genuinely inventive cooking rather than another curry house — think chicken curry bombs, koliwada prawns and a strawberry chicken curry the kitchen claims you won't find anywhere else. The room leans hard into a playful cyberpunk-meets-jewel-tone aesthetic (hot pink banquettes, neon signs, gold accents), which makes it a natural fit for a lively group dinner. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are clearly marked throughout, so mixed-diet tables are easy here.

What to order

The signature sharing plates are the draw — chicken curry bombs (a filled panipuri riff, also vegetarian and vegan), the koliwada-battered prawns, and one of the standout mains like the strawberry chicken curry, burnt onion chicken kari or lamb bunny chow served in a hollowed loaf.

The atmosphere

Bright, buzzing and colourful — neon, jewel tones and high energy, with indoor seating and a covered outdoor terrace.

Local tip: The undercover outdoor terrace is dog-friendly, so it's a rare Bondi dinner option if you've got the dog with you after a beach walk. Book ahead for weekend dinners — the room fills and it leans loud.

Worth knowing: It's firmly in the "lively and loud" camp with an energetic fit-out, so it's the wrong pick for a quiet, intimate meal — and there are no ocean views despite the Bondi Beach address.
