The Ultimate City2Surf Afterparty Guide

So you’ve survived the 14km City2Surf run from Sydney's CBD to Bondi Beach and now it’s time to rehydrate and celebrate your achievement. What's better than celebrating your accomplishment with fellow runners, supporters, and the vibrant local community?

We’ve listed our top picks of where to go post-race but be aware that all spots fill up quickly as tens of thousands of people stream into Bondi. By midday you can expect long queues so we recommend heading straight from the race to your preferred venue. Or, if coming just for the party, being at your venue by 11am at the latest to secure a spot without the massive wait.

Hotel Ravesis

The go-to pub for runners and their support crew in previous years this hotspot fills up quickly, and those premium balcony spots are always in high demand so don’t stop running when you reach the finish line, hotfoot it the extra 500m here.

Royal Bondi

Kick off the all-day party at the Royal with a traditional English breakfast by Totti’s Mike Eggert, complete with all the trimmings, served with coffee and a bloody Mary for $49.50 per person but you’ll need to book. For something lighter they will also be serving bacon & egg rolls, chips, wedges, and wings. Not looking for a full English? Hahn and Byron Bay Brewery are gifting each runner a celebratory Hahn SuperDry schooner or a peach & mango seltzer upon arrival with all-day DJ sets, raffles, and top-tier entertainment led by the ever-entertaining Jackie Daniels.

Beach Rd Hotel

Let’s face it, The Beachy knows how to throw a party and this is the biggest afterparty of them all. For those who have the legs to make it there you can’t go wrong with this option but be aware that the queue here also wins the prize as the biggest if you don’t hotfoot it there in quick time.

North Bondi Fish

Starting at 10am, DJs will take over with views of the legendary Bondi Beach, delivering the latest tunes until 3pm. As daylight fades and the sun sets, live artists will take centre stage from 3:30pm to 6:30pm, setting the mood for a seaside dinner at NBF. You’ll need to book and the first 10 runners to turn up from 10am will be handed a margarita on arrival - if that isn’t incentive to power up Heartbreak Hill we don’t know what is.

Bondi Icebergs Dining Room & Bar

You’ve trained for months and want to reward yourself in style. Icebergs is throwing open its doors at 9am for a set menu brunch for $90pp. Make sure you book in advance.

The Golden Sheaf

Party bus, rooftop, massage. These are the ingredients of a great post-run party. The Sheaf is throwing a live rooftop performance by Retrosweat, free party buses running between Bondi & Double Bay after the race, DJs in the Courtyard from 11am, and 3-minute angel massages for some relaxation. With great food options and a Pure Blonde bar the Sheaf has you covered.

Hotel Bondi

If your legs have seized up and walking is no longer and option Hotel Bondi may be a sensible choice. Close to the finish line, this place is always lively for a post-race celebration.

Salty’s Bondi

Salty’s will be a great choice for walk ups. Opening at 9am with DJs from 10am until after dark this will be a great party.

North Bondi RSL

Always one of the best places on Bondi for a beer, City2Surf is no exception. Open from 10am, head here for a relaxed beer.
