We asked the team at A Tavola Bondi our list of questions to get the low down on the best table in the house, the signature dish, and what to do if they are fully booked.
When did the restaurant open?
The restaurant opened in October 2013.
What is the dish that keeps locals coming back?
Our signature pappardelle with beef shin ragu - slow-cooked with red wine, tomatoes and finished off with horseradish and our cremino (and no its not a coffee!)
What's the best table to get?
Come and eat like the Italians and dine on our signature communal marble table. At lunch you can sit and be mesmerised by our pasta chef as he kneads, rolls and creates all our pasta on the exact table you are eating on! For a more intimate experience we think one of our tables along the banquette is gorgeous on a cold winters night and you cant beat alfresco dining and people watching on one of our outdoor tables on a nice sunny day.
What is your favourite activity in Bondi Beach?
We love Sydney’s annual City to Surf event every August. Its always a sunny day. We love carb loading our regulars pre and post event!
What's one thing that people don't know about your restaurant?
We have staff that started with us on our very first day of opening and still to this day work there! Our team is like a family and we know you will feel the love when you come and dine with us! If your ever planning a trip to Italy then a good chat to one of our team members will be your best travel guide yet!
If you were fully booked, where would you send diners?
Blanca has just opened and is right next door to us! There’s always A Tavola in Darlinghurst and Flour Eggs Water in Surry Hills and at the Tramsheds if you really need to satisfy that pasta craving!
